CSIS project providing English translations of Chinese primary sources — policy documents, speeches, and articles — paired with expert analysis, with the stated goal of enabling a more objective understanding of China. Supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, with an advisory board of leading China scholars, and documented selection criteria (publisher affiliation, citation weight, official-line vs. novel argument, signaling intent). A core primary-source layer for China AI governance research.
