What does AGI actually mean? There is no consensus — not globally, and not within China's AI industry. These statements from ten Chinese AI leaders reveal strikingly different definitions: AGI as the sum of all human intelligence, as a six-step ladder, as a civilization amplifier, as scientific metacognition, as intelligence made cheap, or as a system that must first answer 'what it means to be human.'
